Senior Communications Designer
Essential Functions
- Plans, researches, designs and produces marketing communications materials
utilizing computer graphics.
- Registers and tracks all projects, i.e., paperwork, materials, labor,
outside sources used, client contacts, deadline, changes, costs, associated
computer files, and archives.
- Consults with clients on all phases of projects including design,
technique, procedures, cost estimates, proofing schedule and turnaround
time.
- Maintains high-end computer hardware, software and peripherals.
Secondary Functions
- Coordinates shipping and receiving of various projects and
equipment/supplies.
- Installs various computer graphic/utility programs.
- Supervises student / intern worker(s).
- Backs up front desk as needed; organizes work area.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge of design principles, techniques and methods used to create
effective print and web media, displays, slide and poster presentations,
illustrations, and signage.
- Knowledge of computers and high-end graphics software.
- Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely via written and verbal
skills; develop and maintain good customer and vendor relations.
Entrepreneurial spirit a plus.

Communications Designer
This position would be part of the graphic design team and be responsible
for designing printed communications (brochures, annual reports,
newsletters, sales and related information design to environmental graphic
design). This position would handle concept through production.
We are looking for the following characteristics in this position:
Ability to work well under pressure and organize multiple projects.
Meticulous, excellent written and verbal communication ability with staff
and clients. Ability to ensure deadlines are met. High-end design, corporate
collateral + multimedia and web site design. 4+yrs exp. Very experienced
Quark, Illustrator. Experienced Photoshop.
A. Hands-on: The individual must be able to set the example and demonstrate
quality work. The expectation would be 80% hands-on.
B. The individual must be confident, flexible and secure within themselves
to be effective in the process and creation of work; and be accountable for
design and technical production.
C. Computer literate: Our activity is highly dependent upon the computer. A
working knowledge of Quark, Illustrator and Photoshop Macintosh software
programs for graphic design is essential.
D. Thorough knowledge of production practices including photography
direction.
E. Marketing conscious: It is essential that the individual be aware and
understand the market environment and be knowledgeable in integrating and
developing effective practices to understand, analyze, predict and interpret
innovative solutions to client problems.
We are looking for an individual that will help with the process of graphic

Information Architect
Qualifications:

Junior Web Designer
CMI is looking to hire a junior Web designer. Join our dynamic (and
fun-loving!) design team, and help make our web site exciting, beautiful and
easy to use. As a junior designer you will work for the lead interaction
designer to help build a dynamic user interface for our database-driven web
site.
Qualifications:
- Experience primarily with online design and secondarily with print-related
materials
- Expertise in Photoshop/ Illustrator and a great eye for design
- Knowledge of HTML, Flash and Dreamweaver, ROXEN preferred,
- Experience with Web basics, including screen-layout constraints, preparing
graphics, Web palettes, and cross platform / browser issues.
- Strong communications skills a must!
- 1 year work experience in the design field, and a strong understanding of
the Internet environment. Bachelor's degree required (or equivalent level of
experience).

Programmer
Develop tools and web services in support of the services provided by the
CMI. Programmer will be expected to develop and maintain web and Unix-based
tools in support of services developed or managed by others. Programmers
will work without direct supervision, and must be able to work to
specifications provided by other staff and/or external clients.
REQUIREMENTS:
- HTML/web page development
- Programming experience in Perl, PHP, C, or Java, including CGI, ROXEN or other
server-side scripting experience
- Good communications skills (verbal and written) are essential, including
the ability to handle difficult situations diplomatically.
- Contact with staff must reflect a professional attitude.
- Must have the ability to work with people with varying levels of computer
knowledge.
- Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision essential
- Familiarity with business environment, including marketing communications,
is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with the Unix environment and with open-source tools.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related
to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Office Manager
Under general supervision, plans and oversees all fiscal/administrative
support, human resources management, and office services for a major central
office activity consisting of 5 or more regular administrative staff
directly supporting multiple organizational units. Duties include staffing,
budgeting, administrative support, purchasing, mail, bookkeeping, equipment
maintenance, facilities, and/or other related functions. Directly
participates in departmental administrative decision making; establishes,
implements, and enforces office policies and procedures, and sets workflow
priorities and standards. Performs tasks which require advanced skills in
organization and planning, in-depth knowledge of unit operations and
objectives, and overall knowledge of other departments. May in addition
provide direct, high-level administrative assistance to the principals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises personnel which typically includes recommendations for hiring,
firing, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem
resolution.
- Manages daily administrative operations of a department including
establishing work priorities; assists in resolving problems related to the
day-to-day operations of the unit.
- Reviews, reconciles, and evaluates monthly ledgers, budgets, and financial
reporting system reports for unit accounts; assists with fiscal planning,
development, and management of annual budgets.
- Plans, develops, and coordinates the execution of program policy,
procedures, and operations; monitors compliance with university policies,
procedures, regulations, and appropriate laws.
- Oversees, coordinates, maintains, and/or processes payroll time sheets,
sick and annual leave documents, travel reimbursements, purchasing
documents, and/or employment documents for faculty, staff, and students.
- As appropriate to the individual position, provides and/or oversees the
provision of administrative assistance and support to the office principal,
to include problem solving, project planning and management, fiscal
management, day-to-day office coordination, and secretarial services.
- Assists with the development and implementation of reporting procedures;
oversees maintenance of department records and/or inventories.
- Oversees and provides personal computer functions such as scheduled and
special reports, correspondence, and database management.
- May coordinate space assignments for the unit and oversee office security,
safety, and maintenance.
- Coordinates department programs, seminars, workshops, travel arrangements,
special projects, and/or events; may coordinate program/project development
and planning.
- Orders and maintains inventory of graphic art materials, equipment and
services; makes recommendations for replacements and improvements;
researches vendors for most economical methods/materials.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree; directly related management expertise in administration,
and human resources gained through at least 2 years of equivalent-level work
experience.
At least 1 year of additional work experience that can be demonstrated to be
applicable to the duties listed on the job description.

Reception
You will be reporting to the Office Manager. Responsibilities include
general management of front office activities, answering phone and greeting
customers and suppliers, managing office supplies inventory, and providing
support to CMI staff. You will keep track of ongoing projects, client
contacts, and customer activity using MS Office software. Must have PC
technical skills and ability to master the phone system. We are a service
business so attention to detail is very important. Must be personable and
focused on customer service for clients as well as CMI management. Takes
